Hands on Plymouth’s History – 2012 A Year of Celebration Plymouth Guildhall Saturday 14 July 2012, 10am to 4pm

2012 marks the 60th anniversary of the Plymouth and West Devon Record Office. This event will showcase some of the interesting records from collections, including those related to sport in the city and previous Jubilees. There is a talk programme throughout the day and will include Chris Robinson, local historian and author of many local history books, discussing ‘Plymouth in the 40s and 50s’ from 10.30am. Peter Towey from the Friends of Devon Archives (FoDA) will then talk about what FoDA can offer local and family historians from 11.30am. More information


Plymouth Armed Forces Week Opening Ceremony

On Monday 25th June 2012 at Midday, the Lord and Lady Mayoress will oversee the raising of the Armed Forces Day flag outside the Plymouth Guildhall at the opening ceremony. Details
